Southern California Institute of Architecture
960 E. 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013
Description
A high-ranking and highly respected school, Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCIARC), in Los Angeles, California, offers challenging academics and a dynamic campus in which to earn an architectural degree.
One of very few private architectural schools in the country granting bachelor’s degrees, SCIARC’s previous rankings have placed it at the top of the list for Western architectural schools and within the top 10 nationally.
SCIARC offers two degrees: a bachelor’s and a master’s in Architecture. In addition to studying with respected and active professionals in the field, SCIARC students get the benefit of lectures and symposiums with top-level architects.
SCIARC students are constantly challenged to rethink established theories and experiment with new modes of architectural expression. The campus facilities support this by providing some of the most advanced architectural technologies and equipment.
The Los Angeles location also acts as its own learning lab as students use the vastly diverse architecture of the city to generate new ideas and challenge old ones.
Admission to SCIARC is quite competitive and students are evaluated on their portfolio as well as their previous academic performance.
Students who need to apply for scholarships and other forms of financial aid should do so as soon as they submit their admissions application, due to financial aid deadlines.
