Carver Career Center in Charleston, West Virginia, offers two-year degree programs for high school students and adults. Campus life activities help students to enhance professional and academic skills.
Students at Carver Career Center may pursue an associate’s degree or diploma in such occupational areas as:
- Automotive Technology
- Building Construction
- Culinary Arts
- Event Planning
- Respiratory Care
- Veterinary Technology
Carver’s job placement program helps students to develop job-search techniques and search for appropriate employment.
Outside of class, students may also join one of several professional student organizations. These include SkillsUSA and HOSA. Students in both these organizations compete nationally with other students in their area of study.
Adult admissions requirements include submission of an online admissions application and transcripts or GED scores. High school students who wish to gain admission ought to complete an application and have it signed by their high school guidance counselor.
Carver Career Center awards federal grants to help students with tuition costs. To apply for a grant, an applicant must submit a FAFSA. Students may also obtain private loans from outside organizations.
