For those in the Charleston, West Virginia area looking to start a new career or change their current one, Carver Career Center may be a good fit.

Whether your dream is to go into Cosmetology, Business Technology, Building Construction, Plumbing, Dental Assisting or Health Occupation Service Technology, there is a place in the center for you. All it takes is at least two years of your time to make your dream a reality.

Both part-time and full-time tracks are available for students. Each program offers hands-on experience in the field, giving invaluable experience that can lead to job offers in the future. And you won’t be alone on that front: Carver offers job-placement services that will help you build a resume and search for job openings.

This public certification college offers loans and grants to students who qualify as means of financial aid. There is also a unique program called “EDGE” which allows eligible high school students to gain technical college credit for free.

Carver also offers an interesting opportunity in the Career Plus program, which accepts at-risk high school students with low grades or attendance issues and provides individualized educational services at Carver. Students in the Career Plus program can learn new skills in a vocational or technical program, and earn their GED with Carver’s help.
