PCC Description

Portland Community College’s Sylvania campus in Portland, Oregon, offers students in southwest Portland the opportunity to pursue transfer degrees and technical programs at PCC’s largest and most upscale campus.

The college is known for its dental and nursing programs, both of which are housed on the Sylvania campus. Other exceptional programs offered at PCC Sylvania include:

  • Automotive Technology
  • Sign Language Interpretation
  • Radiology

Students pursuing an associate’s degree can easily transfer to a baccalaureate program at one of many area schools, including Concordia University, Marylhurst University and Linfield College.

Another Sylvania claim to fame is its annual winter powwow festival, which is a celebration of native food, culture, dancing and arts, held in the school’s Multicultural Center.

To fully immerse yourself in another culture, you can check out some of PCC’s study abroad programs, offered in countries like Italy, Spain, Mexico, England and Costa Rica. Scholarships awarded by the Gilman Scholarship Program are available to eligible students.

PCC allows students who have earned a high school diploma or GED to apply. If you have not taken the ACT or SAT, you will need to complete an admissions assessment exam.

PCC and the state of Oregon offer many scholarships based on merit, field of study, extracurricular involvement and personal skills. Additional forms of financial aid include federal grants, loans and work-study programs.
