Description

Located in the heart of historic South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the JNA Institute of Culinary Arts is dedicated to producing well-trained culinary artists through its hands-on academics that integrate theory, coursework and the development of positive self-image and marketing skills.

Programs offered at JNA include a 30-week Professional Cooking program and a 60-week Culinary Arts/Restaurant Management program. Both feature instruction through demonstrations, lectures and hands-on projects. Whether you want to enter an entry-level position in a variety of food service operations or the employment market, these programs have you covered.

Students choosing the Professional Cooking program will complete some of their work at a local restaurant or food service site. This will allow you to gain professional experience as you work with other food service specialists in a real-world setting.

The programs also feature specialty sessions like Sojourns in Tasting, where students pair up to prepare a multi-course meal that reflects the flavors of an assigned region.

The school provides a number of exciting student life opportunities. From the ACF Regional Convention to class picnics to competitions like Taste of Philadelphia, there are plenty of events in which you may participate to make the most out of your educational experience.

Admissions are determined on a rolling basis. To apply, simply fill out the application on the school’s website.
