TAMUT Description

The Texas A&M University in Texarkana, Texas, aims to provide quality educational opportunities to students of all ages and academic backgrounds in the Northeast Texas region.

The university’s faculty consists of more than 50 full-time members, over 85 percent of which have obtained a doctoral degree in their field of instruction. Class sizes are small, with a low student to teacher ratio. This ensures that students receive individual attention.

The university’s biggest college, the College of Education and Liberal Arts, offers undergraduate degrees in English, history, political science, mass communications, applied arts and sciences, general studies, and interdisciplinary studies.

Several minors and teaching certificate programs at undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels are also offered.

Bachelor’s of Business Administration degrees are offered through the School of Business, with concentrations in Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, or Marketing. Also offered is a Master’s in Business Administration.

The university offers dual-enrollment opportunities for junior and senior high school students. It also welcomes international and transfer students, as well as adult learners.

Tuition is set lower for Texas residents, although residents of both Oklahoma and Arkansas can attend at in-state rates.

On campus housing is available, but not required, although it is considerably less expensive than living off campus. Financial aid is available to eligible students to help cover tuition and expenses.
