UPRU Description

If you’re a student in Puerto Rico who wants to contribute to progress, development, and outreach efforts, then the University of Puerto Rico in Utuado is the place for you.

The university is dedicated to sustainability and environmental conservation as well as providing a quality post-secondary education at an undergraduate level in such diverse departments as:

  • Business administration and office systems
  • Natural sciences
  • Languages and humanities
  • Education and social sciences
  • Agricultural technology

The Program of Social and Cultural Activities strives to engage students both culturally and civically by offering college life opportunities that promote and enrich Puerto Rican culture.

There are also several student organizations, developed for students to receive firsthand professional experiences in specific career paths and meet likeminded students to establish networking contacts. Some of these include:

The university does not offer on-campus housing, but the Office of Student Affairs maintains a list of apartments and home boarding houses for rent in the Utuado area. Financial aid is available to eligible students.
