SCCC is a gem in the heart of Sussex County, New Jersey. Our campus is nestled amidst 167 acres of rolling hills, lush forests and tranquil ponds. Since opening in 1982, the College has grown tremendously in its enrollment, academic and career programs and facilities.

SCCC has become the college of choice for nearly 4,000 students from Sussex County, New Jersey and Pike County, Pennsylvania. Our graduates consistently find employment or successfully transfer to other colleges and universities for further education.

There is so much more to SCCC than great classes. College clubs, athletics, theatre performances, fine arts programs, lectures, day trips and service learning all add to the total college experience. There is never a shortage of things to do here. We offer a number of academic and social programs, leadership opportunities, clubs and activities to connect you with students with common interests, enhance your education and make sure you'll have fun while you’re here.

Thousands of students participate in activities sponsored by student clubs, our athletic teams, the Student Government Association and the Office of Student Activities. When transferring to a four-year college, the activities you take part in are just as important as your grades. The key to a successful college career is to get involved and take advantage of all that SCCC offers.

Sussex County Community College (commonly referred to as SCCC or SC3) is an accredited, co-educational, two-year, public, community college located in Sussex County, New Jersey. The school's main campus is located at the intersection of County Route 519 and Plots Road in Newton. Founded in 1981, SCCC currently offers 37 associate degrees and 11 certificate programs.

The college keeps off-site annex classroom locations for certain courses, which are currently situated in Hopatcong High School, Lenape Valley Regional High School, Newton High School, Pope John XXIII Regional High School, Sussex County Technical School and Vernon Township High School.

Extracurricular activities

The college also has National Junior College Athletic Association intercollegiate athletics, offering Women's and Men's Soccer in the fall, Men's and Women's Basketball in the winter and spring and Men's Baseball and Women's Softball in the spring. The Athletic Director is John Kuntz and the Assistant Athletic Director is Albert Becker.

The college also offers many clubs and activities for students.
