At The Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County in Scranton, Pennsylvania, area high school students may get career training or a head start on a postsecondary education. CTC Lackawanna serves students in the following school districts:

Some of the industries in which students may get training are Computer Systems, Drafting and Design, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education and Visual Art and Design.
Professional student activities such as the Health Occupations Students of America club give those training for healthcare professions the chance to participate in national seminars and competitions.
The Future Farmers of America organization provides similar opportunities for those training for agricultural careers.
Additional professional student organizations include Skills USA and the National Technical Honor Society.
While many Lackawanna students use their training to begin a career some also use their educational foundation to transfer to a community or four-year college.
Depending on their field of study they may even go into Lackawanna’s more advanced program offered in Practical Nursing, a program that is also available to area residents with a high school diploma or GED.
Lackawanna’s continuing education courses offer even more options. Short-term, non-credit courses continuing education classes are offered in Automotive Care, Graphics and Technology, Horticulture, and Waste Water Technology among others.
There are tuition costs for continuing education courses and the Practical Nursing program. Financial aid options may be discussed with a school official.
