Description

At Spokane Community College, we strive to provide our community accessible and affordable educational opportunities responsive to the needs of our diverse population.

Located at the corner of Mission Avenue and Greene Street in east Spokane, SCC is highly regarded for its professional-technical programs, including specialties in health sciences; information technology; industrial, manufacturing and automotive technology; hospitality and culinary arts; building trades; and agriculture and natural resource management. The college also has a strong educational tradition in the liberal arts.

Faculty and staff at SCC value and promote the power and growth of learning. The college's four critical learning abilities - responsibility, communication, problem solving and global awareness - are supported and enhanced through curriculum and student services.

With outstanding professional-technical programs, and a strong educational tradition in the liberal arts, Spokane Community College can offers you dozens of intriguing career options that can be accomplished in approximately two years. Plus, we prepare hundreds of students for successful transfer to four-year colleges and universities each year. It's a great place to begin working on your career dreams.

There is no other college campus where you'll find a student-managed nursery/floral shop, The Greenery...the full-service restaurant, Orlando's, which is staffed by students in the college's culinary arts program...a student-operated commercial bakery...an automotive repair center, also staffed by students...and a cosmetology center run by SCC students. And for students who are parents, there's the Bigfoot Child Care Center.

We have excellent instructional facilities as well. A brand-new 65,288-square-foot Science Building opens to students in 2006, and our state-of-the-art Health Science Building features a 36,300-square-foot addition, which was completed in 2001. SCC also is proud of its new Student Services facilities in Building 15, which include a New Admission Center and recently renovated Multicultural and Disability Support Services office areas.
