Overall

Not much to do at this school but study and play foosball. Most guys love to play humans versus zombies which is lame for college students. The girls at the school are self absorb. Only thing to do in town after five is to go to wal mart. Nearest ski resort is two hours away if you can drive on thick ice.

Academics

The work load is reasonable. Not very much. Engineering 101 had 80 students in it so I don't know how they say they have small class sizes. Don't go to the dean of students for anything, she promises you stuff but never follows through.

College Life

There is nothing to do in the very small town. The movie theater is run down. Everyone plays video games and the teachers have to lecture on how to study first then play games. Campus safety is ok but they love to ticket since that is how they pay for the parking lots. Weekend activities is non existent, you can't even eat at the cafeteria on the weekends even when you can't get off campus because of the ice and snow.

Overall

It gets really cold here. Nearest ski resort is 1.5 hours away if you like to do that. It is like the frozen tundra. Nothing to do in town when it is snowing. And the ice is terrible. The staff promises you things but they never deliver.

Academics

It was rigorous and then they started letting anybody in. They don't deny anybody for admissions. It's really just a "B" school, maybe a "C" which is average. Nothing really special about this school.

College Life

There is nothing to do. There are no traditions and campus life is non existent. In town, it is even worse. You can either go to Wal Mart or K Mart. Everything else is either 2 hours away, or even 6 hours if you really want to do things. But, that is if you can get over the passes, ice and snow. It is quite dangerous to drive to campus. And even more dangerous on campus, they don't take care of the streets.

1. No transportation: The City of Wilsonville has NO public transportation to and from OIT Wilsonville while classes are going on. There is simply no way to get to and from campus. Oregon Tech deliberately made the move from Portland to Wilsonville without giving students a way to GET TO CLASS, and HOME FROM CLASS. 2. No campus safety -- at all: Oregon Tech Wilsonville has no campus security, and even locks students out of campus during class times late at night. To verify this, visit the Oregon Tech Wilsonville website. You will not find a single phone number for campus safety department(s) – because they do not exist. 3. Hostile Environment for Women and people with disabilities: Oregon Tech Wilsonville recommends students “bum a ride” with other students, who are mostly strange males. OIT does so in writing. This is publicly available on the OIT student message boards, and functions as official policy for getting to campus. OIT Wilsonville is therefore a hostile environment for women, people with disabilities, and anyone who doesn’t have a vehicle that never, ever breaks down (i.e. the “47%”). 1. Academics

Classes are challenging, but students in Portland cannot get to and from classes in Wilsonville. What good is a great program if nobody can attend?

Overall

I enjoy the fact that we get snow in April :) Overall, I would rate the school as an excellent educational school and would recommend it to others (hands on). Yes, we do get snow on random days of the year but its Oregon. Living on campus was a huge help to finding future roommates and friends. Some tips I would give prospective students would be attend class and study hard.

Academics

Class size varies and in my program we have 21 students in my class. We had almost all the same schedule throughout the last 2 years and it was helpful because you do know people in your class. As far as diversity, there are some occasions where I don't see others that are not in my program.

College Life

Oregon Institute of Technology is not as big of a party school compared to most. There are many clubs and organizations in which a student can participate. We as a school do not have a football team we do however have rugby, soccer, baseball, softball, and what the school is known for BASKETBALL!
