AFIT Description
While many graduate schools are part of a university, the Air Force Institute of Technology’s Graduate School of Engineering & Management is its own institution. Students at the AFIT Graduate School benefit from academics focused on graduate study, with a variety of research opportunities and a student-to-faculty ratio of about 6:1.
The Graduate School of Engineering & Management is divided into several departments:
- Aeronautics & Astronautics
- Electrical & Computer Engineering
- Engineering Physics
- Mathematics & Statistics
- Operational Sciences
- Systems & Engineering Management
Master’s and doctoral degree programs are available. You can choose from a number of diverse subjects, from Aeronautical Engineering and Computer Science to more unusual fields like Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Engineering.
Because of these diverse academic offerings, admissions requirements vary. Generally speaking, applicants to the Graduate School of Engineering & Management should have previous undergraduate coursework in their chosen field of study.
Financial aid at AFIT Graduate School of Engineering & Management comes in many forms. Assistantships, fellowships, internships and scholarships can help to reduce the burden of tuition. Of course, the school participates in all Department of Veterans Affairs programs as well.
