The mission of Schenectady County Community College is to provide quality, comprehensive higher education to meet the career, transfer, training, cultural and lifelong learning needs of the individual, the community, and the workforce. The College is committed to making education accessible and affordable to a population with diverse backgrounds, needs and aspirations.
Schenectady County Community College is a two-year college associated with SUNY, located in Schenectady, New York.
The college was founded in 1967 and started in the former Van Curler Hotel.
The campus has been enlarged several times around that site, most recently in 2001 with the completion of the Stockade Building, a three story academic facility. In 2007 the Culinary Arts facilities were expanded with a 14,000 square foot project including new culinary labs and a new dining room.
The college has approximately 4500 full or part-time students. Forty-one career degree, transfer degree, and certificate programs are offered.
