Ivy Community College prides itself on being the fastest-growing postsecondary education system in Indiana, and Ivy Tech Northwest is a crucial part of this system. With an average enrollment of over 8,000, spread across four campuses (in Gary, East Chicago, Valparaiso, and Michigan City), Ivy Tech Northwest is conveniently available to residents throughout Northwest Indiana.

In addition to online learning and continuing education courses, the college offers a number of academic programs through its six schools:

* Applied Science and Engineering
* Business
* Education
* Health Sciences
* Liberal Arts & Sciences
* Public and Social Services
* Technology

With concentrations ranging from Fine Arts to Biotechnology, Ivy Tech Northwest serves a variety of interests and professional aspirations. The school intends to serve both students who want to begin their careers immediately after school, and students who want to transfer to a four-year institution.

Additionally, Ivy Tech’s College for Working Adults program provides academic opportunities for adult professionals seeking to advance their careers. Ivy Tech Northwest currently offers two of these academic programs: CINS Database Management (at the Valparaiso campus), and Business Administration & Management (at the Michigan City Campus).
