On February 7, 2007, chancellor Rufus Glasper announced that he had asked MCC college president Larry Christiansen to resign in response to the criminal investigation by the Maricopa County Attorney. During this transition, MCC was lead by a series of acting and interim presidents: Patricia Cárdenas-Adame, Wayne Giles and Bernie Ronan. Following a national search, Dr. Shouan Pan was selected as the 6th president of MCC.
