A public institution, Virginia Western Community College serves the city and surrounding areas of Roanoke, providing educational resources for its students and local residents.

Students can enroll in career-specific training courses to prepare them for the job market, or pursue an associate’s degree to build a foundation for continued learning.

Career training programs include Culinary Arts, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Cisco Networking, Engineering, Geographical Information Systems, IT, Water and Wastewater Technology, and many more. Students learn valuable skills through hands-on experience and classroom instruction.

The teachers are down to earth. You can talk with them about any problem and they never shut the door on you. They are helpful and funny and truly want to see you succeed. I like how everyone at this school is helpful, even the students help each other out as much as possible.

I am new to the school, this fall will be my first semester. They have given me alot of information, helped with my schedule and financial aid. The class times are convenient for me. I was able to register and get the classes that I wanted.
