UST Description

One of the largest private four-year schools in Minnesota, University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota is an intellectually stimulating university that offers an immersion in scholarship and academia as well as Catholic spirituality.

At University of St. Thomas, bachelor’s, master’s and some doctoral degrees are awarded in Education, Psychology, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, Divinity, Law and Social Work.

A high level of scholarship is the norm at St. Thomas, as seen by its more than two dozen publications. These include the St. Thomas Magazine, which is put out by the school, and departmental publications from the school of Law, the school of Business, the Department of Irish Studies and the School of Arts and Sciences.

Another benefit of a St. Thomas education is the collaborative faculty-student research, in which students have the chance to participate.

Student life is equally stimulating, offering a number of on-campus cultural and arts events and scholarly lectures.

The city of St. Paul, which is part of the Twin Cities region, also provides much in the way of creative and cultural stimulation as well as shopping, dining, and employment opportunities.

Spirituality is also encouraged and nurtured at St. Thomas through a number of religious clubs, Bible study groups, interfaith activities, seminary-sponsored activities and religious services. With a number of volunteer organizations on campus, students have the chance to do part-time and even full-time community service and charitable volunteer work.

Financial aid is available to those who qualify, including merit-based scholarships. Other forms of financial aid may also be awarded based on financial need and other factors.
