Warner University School Description

The mission of Warner University is to provide excellence in Christian higher education through a curriculum and community that consciously integrates, models, and promotes Christian faith, scholarship, and servanthood.

We have over 1000 students attending Warner Southern through our Lake Wales and 7 extension campus sites. The Online Church Ministry Degree Programs, completed through online coursework, has over 40 students. We offer over 25 Bachelor of Arts degree majors. There are three Masters programs designed for working professionals: Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts Education, and Master of Science Management. Total enrollment is 1,035.

Warner University's graduates have benefited from the encouragement and guidance of highly-qualified professors and now serve as successful businessmen and women in their communities, many in the professional fields of education, ministry, medicine, law, public administration and social services.

Warner University is located five miles south of Lake Wales in Polk County, Florida. Its 380-acre campus is found on both sides of US Highway 27. The east campus borders Crooked Lake, designated as an Outstanding Florida Water by the state of Florida, and is the location for the Raines Administrative Building, the Fulton Fine Arts Building and Williams Hall where Communication Arts, Bible and Church Ministry departments and student housing are located. The west campus facilities include the Rigel Student Center, the Pontious Learning Resource Center, Turner Athletic Center, Spencer Hall and athletics fields. The west campus borders native Florida woodlands and is home to H.E.A.R.T., a missionary training center.

Warner University is a co-educational, accredited private Christian liberal arts college in Lake Wales, Florida affiliated with the Church of God (Anderson).

History

Warner Southern College was founded in 1968 by the Southeastern Association of the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. In 2008 they changed the name to Warner University

Campus

Warner's campus is located miles south of Lake Wales, Florida, in the geographic center of the state between Tampa and Orlando.

Student enrollment

Enrollment averages 1,000 students and it has a student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1. Its student body represents 26 states and 18 countries.

Awards and recognition

Warner has received recognition for Campus Diversity by U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges" for four consecutive years.

Academics

Warner is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, which is recognized by the US Department of Education. and offers 20 undergraduate degree programs for traditional students. For working adults, Warner offers a Master of Business Administration degree, a Master of Arts in Education degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Church Ministry degree, and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management degree. The Church Ministries and Organizational Management degrees are available via distance learning programs.

Warner also operates a unique training facility known as the HEART (Hunger Education and Resources Training) Institute. The HEART Institute is a simulated Third World village which trains students in appropriate technology as well as giving them an opportunity to live in an environment similar to many underdeveloped parts of the world.

Athletics

The school is a member of the The Sun Conference and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Athletic Department qualified in the NAIA as a Champions of Character institution for three years in a row.
