Description
If you are dreaming of becoming a barber or hair stylist, and you live in New Haven County, take a look at the Connecticut Institute of Hair Design.
The hairdressing and barbering training program is a 1500-hour program that includes hands-on practice and presentations, lectures, outings, textbook study, and more. The curriculum prepares students to take their state licensing exam, and for how to be successful in the industry.
Course offerings are more flexible to accommodate student schedules. New classes start regularly each week, and classes are offered during the day, in the evenings, and on some weekend days.
In order to apply to the school, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. They must also provide a copy of their birth certificate and complete an admissions interview. The school does charge an application fee.
Federal and private sources of financial aid are available to those who qualify to help with the cost of financing their education. Tuition rates are the same for full-time or part-time students.
Those who want to work in a hair salon or barber shop, or those who want to start their own hairstyling businesses, should take into account the Connecticut Institute of Hair Design in Wolcott.
