Webber International University

From Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia

Webber International University (commonly referred to as Webber or WIU) is a private institution of higher learning located in Babson Park, Florida, with a setting overlooking Crooked Lake.

WIU was founded by Roger Babson, an entrepreneur and business theorist in the first half of the 20th century.

The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award degrees at the associates, bachelors and masters levels. While the school is acknowledged for its sporting facilities and attracts athletes from all over the globe, many students travel only for the academic studies. The athletes must study alongside their individual sport, which is compulsory.

The school's athletic teams, known as "The Warriors", are members of the NAIA and the Florida Sun Conference. The football team competes as an independent.
