Description

High rankings from numerous publications, impressive faculty, and numerous ways for students to get involved outside of class are some highlights of a Westminster College education.

Located in Wilmington, Pennsylvania, Westminster College awards undergraduate degrees for recently graduated high school students as well as working adults.

Degrees are awarded in the liberal and creative arts, sciences and professional fields. Westminster also has pre-professional majors in such fields as:

  • Dentistry
  • Law
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy

More than 92% of Westminster’s faculty members have a doctorate or another terminal degree in their field. They also come with a history of success in their respective professions, including recognition and awards. Since the school and classes are small, students get the benefit of working closely with such exceptional faculty.

Westminster itself has also been recognized consistently as a top-tier college and as one of the leading schools for programs in Engineering, Math, Science and Technology.

There are also many opportunities for students to get involved outside of class. Westminster has the Celebrity Series, which features entertainment, as well as several student publications, campus ministry organizations and a number of academic, arts, recreational and special interest clubs.

Admissions at Westminster are selective and applicants are evaluated based on various factors including transcripts, ACT or SAT scores and extracurricular involvement. Westminster has different application requirements for graduating high school students, adult students and transfer students.

Financial aid includes need-based awards like grants and loans as well as merit-based assistance, which consists of academic scholarships. Academic scholarships require a minimum grade point average and/or SAT or ACT score. Merit scholarships generally cover up to 60% of yearly tuition costs.
