About CF

The College of Central Florida is the higher education hub for Marion, Citrus and Levy counties. The college offers associate and bachelor's degrees, along with professional certificates, in more than 60 courses of study at its two campuses, two centers and the Appleton Museum of Art.

Students who earn an Associate in Arts at CF are guaranteed general admission into at least one of Florida's 11 public universities. With bachelor's degrees in Early Childhood Education, Nursing, and Business and Organizational Management offered at CF, more and more students choose to complete their four-year degree right where they started.

CF is ranked No. 13 in affordability in the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Education. The college also has one of the best student-to-teacher ratios among Florida College System institutions. CF delivers a great experience to active military, veterans and military families, consistently ranking in the top 20 percent of military friendly schools in the nation. This low-cost tuition combined with personal attention in the classroom makes CF the first choice for higher education in north central Florida.

CF has a robust campus life, which offers the full college experience complete with clubs, student organizations and athletics. From the student newspaper to honor societies and pre-professional organizations, there are a variety of clubs for students to get involved in at CF.

The college's basketball, softball, baseball and volleyball teams consistently rank at state and national levels. In fact, the men's basketball team won the 2013 National Junior College Athletic Association National Basketball Championship and the women's softball team was runner up in the 2014 NCJAA National Softball Championship.

In addition to the fine arts experiences offered at the Appleton Museum of Art, which has a permanent art collection of more than 16,000 objects, the college regularly hosts theatrical plays, musicals, foreign films, concerts, and national and international speakers, including authors, poets and experts on myriad subjects. The College of Central Florida is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Contact the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of College of Central Florida.
