Provided by Maranatha Baptist Bible College IncMaranatha’s academic philosophy combines a Bible college environment with a liberal arts focus. Students take 30 hours of Bible and 40 hours of liberal arts in addition to program requirements. Maranatha is regionally accredited.
Maranatha's mission is to train all students to serve the Lord, but all are not called to full-time Christian service.
The college is a non-profit institution, not part of any denominational hierarchy or structure. Maranatha maintains a strong set of spiritual and behavioral distinctives. Faculty members, though from diverse academic backgrounds, share a common core of biblical values and beliefs.

Maranatha Baptist Bible College is an independent, fundamental, Baptist college in Watertown, Wisconsin, offering a wide range of undergraduate degrees including Bible, business management, teacher education, nursing, humanities, biology, fine arts, music, piano, church ministries among others, as well as graduate degrees in Biblical Studies, Biblical Counseling, and Theology.
Accreditation and memberships
Maranatha is fully accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the regional accreditation agency for the region that includes Wisconsin. It is a participant in the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) of the Higher Learning Commission.
The Teacher Education Department programs at Maranatha Baptist Bible College are recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for purposes of teacher certification.
Maranatha is a member of the following groups:
- American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers,
- American Association of Christian Colleges and Seminaries,
- National Christian College Athletic Association, Division II,
- National Collegiate Athletic Association, Division III,
- Northern Athletics Conference for all sports.
History
Founded on September 14, 1968, the college was named for the Aramaic phrase maranatha, which means "Lo He Cometh" which appears in I Corinthians 16:22 in the New Testament. The college records over 3,000 graduates since its founding. Enrollment for Fall 2009 is expected to reach 900.
The school was founded by B. Myron Cedarholm, chartered by the State of Wisconsin in 1968. Arno Q. Weniger and David Jaspers have also served as Presidents of the institution. The office of President was vacant with the May 2006 resignation of Dr. David Jaspers. On April 27, 2007, Dr. Chuck Phelps was named President of the school, replacing Dr. Larry Oats, who served as interim President.
