Description

The Lafourche campus is one of three South Central Louisiana Technical College locations, offering unique a set of vocational training programs unique from the other two. SCLTC Lafourche’s academics include nearly 15 diploma, certificate and associate’s degree programs in fields like:

  • Automotive Technology
  • Business Office Administration
  • Electrician
  • Emergency Medical Technician
  • Nurse Assistant
  • Surgical Technology
  • Welding

These programs can prepare you for a variety of entry-level jobs, from the office to the workshop. The school also offers workforce development services to local businesses. For example, the Incumbent Worker Training Program trains employees to use new technology.

Unlike some vocational institutes, SCLTC Lafourche follows a traditional academic calendar. Semesters begin in August and January, with an abbreviated summer session that runs from May through August. Registration is typically in mid-August, so be sure to submit your admissions materials early.

South Central Louisiana Technical College provides several options for financial assistance. Most students get financial aid from state and federal programs, many of which are based on need. Certain grants, like HeaRTS, are specific to certain fields of study.
