Clinton Community College is located a few miles south of the city of Plattsburgh in Clinton County, New York. It is a community college unit of the State University of New York (SUNY).
Clinton Community College (CCC) is part of the State University of New York (SUNY), which oversees a network of sixty-four campuses, thirty of which are locally sponsored community colleges. CCC is a residential campus which has 2,200 co-educational undergraduates with an average class size of 18. Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, N.Y., it is just an hour south of Montreal, Quebec and across the lake from Burlington, Vermont.
Clinton Community College offers fifteen A.A., A.S., and A.A.S. programs and ten certificate programs, all approved by the New York State Department of Education, as well as a number of articulation agreements and transfer options to other four-year colleges and universities. Students at Clinton consistently rate the college high on support, and faculty and staff pride themselves on helping students succeed. In a recent survey conducted by the State University of New York system, students ranked CCC highest among all community colleges in availability of computers, course related laboratories, student orientation, class size, acceptance of cultural difference, racial harmony on campus, diversity of student body, being required to think critically and receiving feedback from instructors. The Student Affairs division was recently recognized for their “Outstanding Student Affairs” program award from the State University of New York system.
Campus Features
The George Moore Academic and Administrative Building which is the largest facility on campus has advanced multimedia smart classrooms, as well as state of the art computer labs and resources. The William B. Forrence Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Building is the home of Cougar Athletics and is a convenient, well used student athletic facility. The college belongs to the NJCAA and has teams for men’s and women’s soccer, basketball, softball and baseball. The newest building, the Stafford Center for Art, Science and Technology, complements a talented teaching staff who offer a range of courses in up-to-date “hands on” laboratories, studios and classrooms. The PARC Place residential complex has residence halls and a dining facility. The Residence Hall staff offer residential students a number of programs that focus on building community within and supporting the academic goals of the college.
