School Description
Provided by Milan Institute- Visalia
The mission of Milan Institute is to meet the needs of students and employers by offering quality short term educational programs in career fields with solid growth potential.
Express your unique talents and creativity at the Milan Institute and the Milan Institute of Cosmetology. We offer quality hands-on training, a committed staff, experienced faculty, and individual attention.
Unlike large colleges and universities where you can easily become another nameless student in a massive class, at Milan Institute you'll receive one-on-one attention from the instructor. Our small classes assure that you get the support you need and move quickly from training into the workforce.
You'll make great contacts with prospective employers and clients while you're still in school through our student clinics. Our clinics are open to the public so not only do you get great work experience while you train, but also our name is recognized throughout the community.
The support you receive from Milan Institute doesn't stop at graduation. We offer career services assistance to give you a jump-start in your new career. Our success is a working graduate.
The Visalia campus first opened its doors to the community in January 2008. Since then, 158 students have enrolled and 18 have graduated. As more and more students join Milan Institute of Cosmetology, the school begins to plan for expansion. The addition of new classrooms is scheduled for August or September of this year, and extension of the student salon floor is anticipated to take place in October or November.
Currently, the school offers an accredited Cosmetology program. Both day and evening class schedules are offered, and financial aid is available to those who qualify. Milan’s faculty offers academic credentials with years of training or work experience in their areas of specialization. The school’s administrative staff is committed to providing the individual student attention necessary to achieve success in the cosmetology field. In addition, the school provides career services assistance to all of its graduates to assist them with their new job search.
The school also has a student salon where value-priced beauty services are performed under instruction supervision. In April of 2008, the first class of cosmetology students began servicing clients. Due to its growing popularity within the community, the student salon performs approximately 2,000 services each month. This month Milan is offering $2.99 manicures after 4pm, $5.00 haircuts and 50% off any chemical service Monday through Wednesday.* The student salon also offers services such as facials, waxing, makeup application and hair extensions.
Visalia is located in California’s San Joaquin Valley, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Visalia has experienced tremendous growth in the late twentieth century and the city continues to grow - in population, diversity, and sophistication.
Once a creek-side settlement, Visalia has become a thriving community that takes pride in the small town feel and high quality of life that accompanies our big city amenities. You will find Visalia a terrific place to get a start in your new, professional career.
