Since the average age of a Strayer student is 34 and they often come with years of work and life experience, in-class discussions allow students to discuss these life experiences in the context of their subject area.
Classes are also offered in the evenings, on weekends and even online so that students might successfully balance work and family obligations with school.
Strayer also provides career-counseling services to help its students in the application, interview and job search processes.
Undergraduate admissions requirements include possession of a high school diploma or GED and submission of an application. In light of Strayer’s mission, the school even awards credit for life experience in certain instances.
Graduate admissions requirements include a minimum grade point average of 2.75 and a minimum score on the GMAT and GRE.
The financial aid department does its best to help eligible students with tuition costs by providing loans and grants to those who have a demonstrated financial need. To be considered for these financial aid sources, applicants need to fill out a FAFSA. There are also several institutional scholarships that are based on grade point average and usually cover partial tuition. Military benefits are also offered to those who qualify.
