Situated in the center of the beautiful resort town of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Strand College of Hair Design offers more than just a great location. Strand College also provides students with a diverse skill-set for the beauty industry, including current styles, cutting edge methods and advanced styling techniques.

Strand’s programs prepare students for licensure in:

  • Cosmetology
  • Esthetics
  • Manicuring

Some examples of the methods that Cosmetology students might learn include coloring and texturing and those that use shears, razors and clippers. Students also learn business and management skills as well as professional ethics. This type of relevant and comprehensive training makes students highly marketable in a variety of settings.

In addition to craft-oriented programs, Strand offers a teacher-education program for licensed stylists who want to teach their trade.

Those interested in applying will need to submit an application, recommendation letters, a personal essay, proof of a high school diploma or GED and an application fee. Applicants need to be at least 17 years old.

Financial aid is awarded through federal sources like grants and loans, which are awarded according to financial need. Additional tuition assistance is available through such programs as the veteran’s administration and vocational rehabilitation.
