The Bradford-Union Area Career Technical Center in Starke, Florida, is the place for area high school students and adults to gain the academic, technical and career skills to pursue advanced education and technical training and become a productive member of society.
To meet the needs of working adults who may have not had the opportunity for higher education in the past, the center offers basic skills remediation, GED preparation, high school credit programs and community education night classes in addition to its regular academics.
More than 10 programs are available, ranging from Commercial Vehicle Driving to Cosmetology to Building Trades. Students enrolled in the Commercial Vehicle Driving program will take their classes in a separate building, which contains training grounds.
Since the school is dedicated to preparing you for a career upon your program’s completion, it provides numerous resources like personal and career counseling, employability skills development programs and job placement assistance to help you on your way.
The center is part of the Florida Works program, which provides additional programs to disadvantaged youth, physically handicapped students and veterans in the area. To help students with their career goals, the center strives to assist all students who have filed a FAFSA with some form of financial aid.
Tuition rates vary according to program length, laboratory usage and additional services like drug tests, state board exam fees and motor vehicle reports.
