Description

The Essex Warren BOCES program in Plattsburgh, New York, offers practical nursing training that includes clinical assignments. Students who go through the Essex Warren BOCES program in practical nursing may also receive college credit.

Practical nursing is a field that is thriving. Those who work in the profession may gain employment at hospitals, doctor’s offices, and nursing homes and in home care situations.

Part of the 1160-hour practical nursing program is a clinical assignment, which gives students the chance to get experience working in medical facilities alongside other medical professionals and with patients.

Since Essex Warren BOCES has a transfer agreement with North County Community College, students may transfer for a more advanced nursing degree.

Anyone with a high school diploma or equivalency may attend Essex Warren’s practical nursing program. Admissions requirements include submission of transcripts, an application and two references.

Financial aid options at Essex Warren BOCES may be discussed with a financial aid counselor at the school.
