Description

The Tennessee Academy of Cosmetology in Memphis, Tennessee, provides a firm foundation for a successful career in cosmetology through its professional instructors, who work with area salons and product representatives to ensure that both the instruction and you are kept up to date with the latest trends and techniques in colors, perms, cuts, and styling.

Classes start every week so new students may begin at their own convenience. Courses are available either full-time Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or part-time with day or evening schedules.

Programs are conducted through a combination of classroom lecture, audio and video presentations, hands-on practice, and instructor-led demonstrations. Guest instructors and local artists also provide lectures to impart their knowledge and experience.

The academy offers programs in general cosmetology, esthetics, and manicuring.

The general cosmetology course is a 1,500 hour program that can be completed in as little as 12 months; esthetics requires 750 clock hours; and manicuring requires 600 training hours.
