School Description

Provided by Davis Applied Technology College

Davis Applied Technology College provides world-class, market-driven, technical training and related services to individuals seeking opportunities for employment and upgrade training in response to local business and community demand.

Davis Applied Technology College (formerly Davis Area Vocational Center) was created by an act of the 1978 Utah State Legislature to serve the residents of Davis and Morgan Counties with technical training. In June 2001, a special session of the Legislature passed House Bill 1003 creating the Utah College of Applied Technology (UCAT), the state's 10th newest institution of higher education. There are eight applied technology campuses: Bridgerland, Davis, Dixie, Mountainland, Ogden-Weber, Salt Lake-Tooele, Southwest, and Uintah Basin.

Utah College of Applied Technology provides competency-based education in an open-entry, open-exit environment which prepares over 58,753 high school and adult students with career and technical skills. The flexibility of open-entry, open-exit scheduling allows students to start school anytime without waiting for a specific date (i.e. quarters or semesters). UCAT's affordable tuition allows full-time adult students to attend for a base rate of $1.35/hour and high school students to attend at no tuition cost.

Davis Applied Technology College currently offers certificate programs in the Schools of Business, Construction, Health, Information Technology, Manufacturing and Service Industries. Employer advisory teams are used extensively to review program standards as they relate to industry demand and employment verification.

The College is dedicated to its philosophy of "We Change Lives." On behalf of our dedicated faculty, staff, Board of Directors and Foundation we extend our warmest welcome.
