Trocaire College, a private, career-oriented Catholic College, in the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy, strives to empower students toward personal enrichment, dignity and self-worth through education in a variety of professions and in the liberal arts.

Recognizing the individual needs of a diverse student body, Trocaire College provides life learning and development within a community-based environment. Trocaire College prepares students for service in the universal community.

Trocaire College is one of 18 Mercy colleges and universities throughout the United States. By enrolling at Trocaire College, you are taking an important step in charting your course for future success. The many challenges awaiting you at Trocaire College will prepare you for the opportunities you will soon encounter in the working world.

Trocaire College offers an ideal, intimate learning environment, whether you are coming here directly from high school or returning to the classroom. Our decision to remain a small, private institution located in the City of Buffalo enables us to give quality care and consideration to every student joining our community. The dedicated faculty and small class sizes promote creative teaching/learning experiences while our concerned staff members seek to accommodate your academic, personal and financial needs.

Trocaire College has developed quality two-year and shorter certificate programs which have long been recognized as providing superior skills in a variety of careers. Most of our graduates go immediately to work, but many benefit from our agreements with area four-year colleges and universities. These agreements allow you to transfer credits earned at Trocaire toward a baccalaureate degree at the four-year institution. Ninety-four percent of our graduates in the last two years found work or study in their field upon graduation.

Our dedicated faculty have the resources to deliver the highest quality education within state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories on the Trocaire campus. As a student, you will have access to more than 100 computer workstations across campus. Program-related labs simulate real-world work environments to give you hands-on experience in your field of study.

Qualified staff can assist you by working with you to determine your individual needs as well as your educational goals. Personal guidance in test-taking, reading, note-taking, math and english composition are available through the Palisano Center for Academic Success, along with learning modules, media, and computer programs in the Academic Computing Labs.

The Trocaire experience extends far beyond the classroom with an array of activities, clubs and organizations available to enhance your college experience – student program clubs, honor society, student newspaper, dances and picnics are scheduled throughout the year.

Trocaire is located in a residential area of South Buffalo, NY and is easily accessible – by public transportation; exits 54 and 55 of the New York State Thruway are a few blocks away; and the Tifft Street exit from the Buffalo Skyway brings you to Trocaire's back door. The college houses state-of-the-art computer laboratories, networked classrooms equipped with high-tech presentation tools, and fully equipped laboratories which support courses in health care, business and technology. An additional location will be open for the start of the January 2008 semester. The new complex will house the Russell J. Salvatore School of Hospitality & Business, including a full-service teaching kitchen.

Well, the school is small (~700 students) and it seems to be relatively easy to gain admission. The average highschool GPA is a 2.00 for incoming students with an average SAT score of about 880. Note: The SAT is not required! I believe they accept 100% of applicants, in fact. The tuition is very affordable (only about $10500 per year including fees). Does this help?
