College Advice

Yahoo
I would be doing double major in business and communication. University of Nebraska has a good program for both my majors in communication/advertising and also business.Whereas, Buffalo has an average communication program and a good business program. I think. In terms of location wise...Buffalo wins over Nebraska, Lincoln. Night life/college life I was told Buffalo is better. I need to know in terms of school, which one is known to be better? From the U.S ranking Nebraska ranks higher than Buffalo. But I need people in the states to verify this. I also need to make a decision fast. Do I go for good program? good school? or location/student life? Thanks!

I would recommend Nebraska. It has a bigger name in general which has always helped me get interviews. Nebraska has an awesome business school and will really give you a quality education. Believe it or not UNL has a really good night life. It is just a few blocks from downtown where there is a pretty good bar scene (not much for a club scene though). Between Lincoln and Omaha (which is just a short skip down the road) there are a bunch of good concerts, shows, etc. Its location makes it great for short weekend road trips to Kansas City, Denver, Chicago, etc. On campus you have the flexibility to get involved in a million ways and know a lot of people or just be one more face in the croud. I can't even begin to explain the football scene. All I can say is you will never experience anything like a game day. Even if you aren't a football fan or don't go to the games its amazing to see the whole city pretty much stop what they are doing to get into Husker spirit. If you have any specific questions about Lincoln, feel free to contact me! Good luck with your decision
I would like to hear from people who are in the program or who have completed it. or a recomendation for another Distance program not so expensive. Thanks.

I have not done this programs, but I am a part of the distance learning community and this program has a great reputation among distance learners. It is AACSB and you need at least a 580 GMAT to get in. The tution is reasonable for an MBA program.
Im from Flagstaff Arizona... and would like to try something different. My parents want me to go to College and become a lawyer(which I do agree with)! UNL is a great school. It's also in a great town, very safe, and entertaining. There is plenty to do, and even if you get bored Omaha is less than an hour away, and Kansas City is a short 3 hour trip south. It has great sports programs, as well as top programs in many things to study. The dorms are nice, and people are for the most part friendly. The sorority and fraternity houses are very nice as well. You can virtually live on campus, with meal plans and the student union you never have to leave. The student union has a great little mini mart, and there are at least 4 movie theaters within walking distance. The city also gives out free bus passes to students, however driving is not much of a problem. Parking on campus can be a little expensive, but because of all the ethanol in Nebraska gas prices don't climb as high as other places. I would recommend this school to many people.
I've been offered a full ride to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. I'm a high calibur student hoping to study biology. Will I be able to find a challenge at this University? I am planning to then go on to medical school.

UNL is not a bad school, and Lincoln is a nice town. I don't know specifically about the science programs offered, but if you want to go to med school it may not be a bad idea. There is a med school attached to the university and most med schools accept their own undergrads first. If you are going on to grad school, it doesn't matter which undergrad you attend, as long as you get good grades. If you don't feel challenged during your undergrad the profs would be glad to do independent studies with you.

I live in Scottsbluff Nebraska and YES the University of Nebraska is a really nice college. My son is 15 and we were just there for a college tour and it was really awesome. The people were so down to earth and so friendly. They do offer a tour which consists of an entire weekend if you like, and that sure tells u alot about the school. I think you should invest a little time to check it out i think u will be pleased
