The ITT Technical Institute is an institution of higher learning that is committed to offering quality undergraduate and continuing education locally, nationally and worldwide to students of diverse backgrounds, interests and abilities. The institution offers educational programs that integrate life-long learning with knowledge and skills to help students pursue their personal interests and objectives, develop intellectual, analytical and critical thinking abilities, and provide service to their communities.
The programs employ traditional, applied and adult-learning pedagogues and are delivered through traditional, accelerated and distance methodologies in a learner-centered environment of mutual respect.
ITT Technical Institute (often shortened to ITT Tech) is a private, for-profit, technical institute with 105 campuses in 37 states of the United States. It was founded in 1946 as Educational Services, Inc. and has been headquartered in Carmel, Indiana, since 1969. ITT Tech is owned and operated by ITT Educational Services Inc. , a publicly traded company. ITT Educational Services, Inc. (ESI) was spun off by ITT Corporation through an initial public offering in 1994, with parent company ITT as an 83% shareholder.
ITT Tech is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.
ITT Tech offers programs specialized in Information Technology, Computer Electronics, drafting and Design, Criminal Justice, Health Sciences, and Business Administration.
Students of ITT Tech may pursue Associate's degree AAS, bachelor's BS (all but health), or master's (business-only, online) degrees. Graduates might be specialized in architectural design, civil and mechanical drafting, visual communications, graphic design and animation, programming and networking, computer engineering, electronics and information technology.
Online programs are also available.
From 1965 until its IPO in 1994, ITT Tech was a wholly owned subsidiary of ITT Corporation (as "ITT/ESI"). By 1999, ITT Corp. (which had merged with Starwood the year before) divested itself completely of ITT Tech's shares but the schools still use the "ITT" name under license.
ITT Technical Institute has been involved in several controversies over its business and academic practices.
In August 1998, 15 former students alleged misrepresentation, fraud and concealment by ITT arising out of their recruitment and education at ITT campuses. In September 1998, ITT settled all of the claims of the 15 claimants.

College Advice on ITT Technical Institute - Lathrop |
Question: Anyone who has attended Itt Technical Institute and has got a job for the field you studied in?I currently go to Itt in Texas, I have been there for one year, I have heard good and very bad experiences. Does any one have any good experiences from attending Itt Tech?45 months ago
Best AnswerHi. I just graduated from ITT Tech, Richardson Campus, on March 06. There had been obviously good and bad part about the school. I have also attended a community college and experienced the same thing. My big advice to you is that wherever you go, public or private, it is you who can make the best out of it. It is always the effort that you put in to understand the materials. So many of my class mates had been fooling around not tring to educate themselves. As most of these employer have Basic electronics test to see knowledge you earn around electronics. It is obvious that if you dont know the material, you won't pass it. You have to try a little harder to get where you want to be. Like I said, I just graduated on march 06 and got so many offer before i finished school. Now i am working for company name Schlumberger as Field support/Electronic Technician and offered $44,000 / year. What i am advicing is what you put in. Good luck and feel free to shoot me few lines if you need more info. |
