Description

For those wanting to escape the congestion and bustle of Los Angeles without moving too far from the city, Citrus College is ideal. The Citrus College environment is an oasis of calm with the academics of a thriving institution, all only 25 minutes from downtown L.A.

The academics at this peaceful, rural college, like those seen at a much larger school, are plentiful. One may earn an associate’s degree or certificate in Business, Cosmetology, Fine Arts, English Literature, Nursing, Theatre Arts and Water Technology, among many others.

The campus culture is also abundant with interesting opportunities and attractions. For example, the Haugh Performing Arts Center hosts musical, theatrical and other events by outside performers as well as students.

Other cultural and extracurricular offerings on campus include numerous student clubs, organizations and activities.

The career services department is also extensive. They offer career testing and counseling, which includes counseling for personal matters which may be affecting one’s academic performance.

Citrus College is a commuter school that does not supply on-campus housing to its primarily part-time student-body. However, there are numerous nearby communities, such as Pasadena, Alhambra and Arcadia with reasonable rental costs.

Financial aid is offered at Citrus College in the form of loans, grants, work-study and scholarships for students who qualify.
