Fort Scott Community College (FSCC)
2108 South Horton Fort Scott, Fort Scott, KS 66701
Founded in 1919, Fort Scott Community College (FSCC) is the oldest continuously running community college in Kansas. FSCC has various types of programs for students to choose from, such as Agriculture, Construction, Cosmetology, Math and Science, Truck Driving, and more. In addition, the school offers specified technician programs for Harley-Davidson and John Deere. FSCC also offers online courses, giving their students the flexibility of distance learning.
FSCC offers “living-learning” style dormitories to eligible students. The residence halls have air conditioning and lounge areas on each floor for students to study or just hang out. There are organized activities and clubs available to help students get involved and meet new people while learning and having fun.
Kansas residents receive a discount on tuition, and residents of bordering states receive a slightly smaller discount.
Students interested in applying at Fort Scott Community College may apply for the FAFSA and the school’s financial aid office will try to answer any questions you have. The school does not participate in any private or alternative student loan programs; they only certify federal direct subsidized, unsubsidized, and PLUS loans. There may, however, be some scholarships available through donations from businesses or alumni.
