College Advice on Front Range Community College

Question: What't it like taking a college course ONLINE (namely Psychology?)?

Have you ever had the experience of taking a Psychology college course online, (It would be great if it was at Front Range Community College, but if it wasn't, that's okay, I just want to know what it's like.) - HOW disciplined do you have to be to take a psychology class on line? - HOW much time do you have to devote to the online class everyday (how long do you spend reading and "being in the class" online?) - HOW long does it take to do the work/homework? - HOW hard is it? - IF you had to choose between taking the psychology course online or driving over to the college, what would you choose? - IF I have a lot of church stuff, school, applications and scholarships to fill out, should I choose online or not (on campus)? - IS there a lot of reading to be done in psychology? Or what does the class consist of? - PLEASE tell me what it's like to take a college class online. Thanks SO much for your help and advice! GOD BLESS YOU!

Any college course online can be challenging the 1st time around. It's just a different approach to managing your time and attention. YES, there will be A LOT of reading. If it is a 3 credit course, then you should probably budget about 6 hours per week for the course. Sometimes, you'll be able to choose the hours on your own, other times, you may have to log in for an "online chat" at a specific time. Learning the technology format will also be a challenge initially (where do I find how to submit that paper?), so be sure to give yourslef LOTS of leeway time leading up to due dates. More and more classes are moving online, so it's a good idea to dive in and take one and see how it works for you! Good luck!

Question: What College???

hey, I know this is a horrible question to ask to an online forum, but I really need all the advise I can get. I'm about to be a sophomore at CU Boulder, and I'm considering going to the Front Range community college in my home town for a year to finish up my gen. ed. classes. The reason being it will save my parents about 10-15K. I still get to move out, and I can work full time while going to school if I go to front range! But I will have to drop out of the university and then go back next year to finish the last two years of my degree. I have the same amount of friends in both places, and it's really the same to me. What would you guys do???

That's a great idea! Just make sure that you take classes that will transfer back by following the CU Boulder catalog. Do your best and you will be successful in college and life. Best wishes.

What is 'prising'? Is it 'price', the cost of attending? If so, why don't you CALL THEM and ask. See below. BTW. I hope that it's not too late to learn how to write a coherent sentence.
