Overall
I would have to say that when I first started Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC), I didn't know what to expect. I was indeed nervous as there was a much larger body of students than what I was accustomed to. However, I must say that I am currently enjoying my time at BRCC in my second semester. My major, Entertainment Technology, is one that is not offered pretty much in to many places in the state so this was a great advantage to me to pursue. Another thing I must say the school excels at is job resources and events for the student body. Nearly every week the school has some event that brings the faculty and staff together. They have frequent job fairs and even guest speakers which show that the school definitely is a pusher of career development.
Academics
As I've mentioned, I take a course that is not offered in very many places in my state and it was truly a diamond in the rough to stumble upon. My entertainment technology instructor is very knowledgeable and really trains us on how to be productive in a highly competitive industry. My Intro to Entertainment course is truly eye opening as I get to see what it is like in four major areas of entertainment; learning how to balance intellect with intuition and bring my ideas into fruition. The professors at the school are good as well and I recommend the Speech, Humanities, and English courses.
Campus Facilities & Safety
The school has numerous campus safety officers patrolling the school to ensure maximum safety for the students and faculty. They are located inside and outside the school. The atmosphere at BRCC is very upbeat but also maintained when it comes to career fairs and other productive activities. The school also has a good amount of computer labs in each building that are really helpful for researching and doing homework. They have Math Labs and a library with tutors of varying subjects waiting to help students that need it. The community college clubs were interesting as well as it was the first time I actually decided to participate in any and the SGA is really involved with the students. For any future students planning to attend the school I recommend you make sure you complete all the necessary paperwork including financial aid and legal documents ahead of time as enrollment often can be hectic. I also highly recommend joining a club if you have the spare time to do so. It is a great way to make friends and build up confidence.

Overall
Study hard but not to hard ,and enjoy the company of those around you, is the only advice that I could give an incoming students Class sizes are descent. The professors generally tend to have a genuine interest in helping you to do well!

Class sizes are descent. The professors generally tend to have a genuine interest in helping you to do well! Work load is generally not very heavy provided that you do not let it get a head of you and slack off.
Campus Facilities & Safety
Laid back atmosphere. We could seriously use an on campus medical facility. Parking generally is not to bad and there is almost always some where to park. As far as campus safety goes we have plenty of campus police who are there to protect the individuals here on campus.
