ECSU Description

Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina that utilizes its student-centered environment to help its students become lifelong learners and leaders. Originally founded in 1891, the school is accredited to offer its degrees and accept federal financial aid.

The school offers roughly three dozen bachelor’s degrees, three master’s degrees, and several professional programs. Undergraduate schools at ECSU consist of Arts and Humanities, business and Economics, Education and Psychology, Mathematics, Science, and Technology, Military Service, and General Studies.

Distance Education opportunities are available in some courses, such as online learning via the Blackboard software.

College life at ESCU can help students become better citizens. Education at the university is not confined to the classroom. Community service and outreach, economic development, and a commitment to service are just a few important aspects of how ECSU maintains its partnerships with the community.

The admissions department encourages students considering attending school to contact them to help determine if ECSU is the right school for them. They can send information, schedule a personal campus visit or provide dates for open-house events. Students wishing to attend ECSU should apply online on the school’s website.
