SHU Description

Sacred Heart University (SHU), located in Fairfield, Connecticut, is the second-largest Catholic University in New England. SHU provides its students with a hands-on learning environment entrenched in Catholic intellectual tradition and the liberal arts.

The five divergent colleges that make up SHU include The College of the Arts and Sciences, Isabelle Farrington College of Education, University College, College of Health Professionals, and John F. Welch College of Business.

Sacred Heart offers more than 40 degree programs at the associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. The Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) recognizes Sacred Heart’s core curriculum as a national model of values education.

A few of SHU’s academic accomplishments include having the best Physical Therapy program in Connecticut and being a leading private educator of certified teachers and school administrators.

College Life at SHU is active and fun. With 10 residency halls available and many clubs and organizations, students will have plenty of activities to choose from to enhance their educational and social on-campus experience.

In addition to being home of one of the best freshman academic advising teams in the country, the university has an excellent financial aid department, whose goal is to help each individual student find ways to cover tuition.
