Description

Mahoning County Career and Technical Center (MCCTC) offers career-training, enhancement and certifications through short-term courses and workshops.

Located in Canfield, Ohio, MCCTC’s career development courses include certifications in Pharmacy Tech, Phlebotomy, Pipe Welding, Culinary Arts, Emergency Medical Services, Restaurant Management, Medical Office Management and more. Such certifications may take only nine months to complete.

Adults who wish to start or enhance a career without registering in a certification program may benefit from one of MCCTC’s many individual courses. These are offered in everything from computer programs like Excel and PowerPoint to general sales, selling on eBay, or care-giving.

Special interest courses intended for enrichment and recreation are also offered. These include sports like golf and yoga as well as artistic classes in subjects like painting and photography.

For students who need to get their GED, free courses in GED-prep are also provided.

Since MCCTC maintains partnerships with such schools as Youngstown State University, Cuyahoga Community College and Lorain County Community College students may be eligible to transfer to such places without losing credits.

Career counseling and training in interviewing and job-seeking skills are all offered at MCCTC.

Financial aid is also offered. Eligibility and requirements may be discussed with a Mahoning County Career and Technical Center financial aid counselor.
