Empire Beauty School, Shamokin Dam

Empire Beauty School is one of the largest networks of beauty school in the country, and in all of its programs students get thorough training, including professional, community service and industry opportunities.

At the Shamokin Dam campus in Pennsylvania, students may undergo training in Cosmetology. There is also a Teacher Education program for already-licensed cosmetologists interested in teaching at a beauty school.

The training itself is thorough, eventually providing students with advanced Cosmetology skills and periodically reviewing basic skills. Students are also given instruction in business skills, which helps with the job search and with excelling in the workplace.

Probably most exciting are the professional events in which Shamokin Dam students participate, which include national and regional contests, many of which Empire Beauty students have won over the years. There are also community service events where Empire Beauty students provide hair, nail and other beauty services while raising money for charitable causes.

Students with a substantial financial need may qualify for federal grants and loans. Empire Beauty also provides financial aid applicants with resources for finding and applying for outside scholarships.
