Ashford University is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, a commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
I just enrolled in their online program. Just wanted some input on the school because I honestly didn't do much research. And it's a Catholic school. I'm Christian. Is that weird to go to a catholic school if I'm christian?

It used to be a private, Catholic 2-yr women's college (Mt St. Clare), complete with convent. It has been reincarnated as a coeducational "university" offering BA and MA degrees, a lot over the internet. The facility has been purchased by Bridgeport Education, Inc. a for-profit outfit in California. Clinton is a small eastern Iowa city on the Mississippi River north of the Quad Cities (Davenport/Bettendorf, IA/Moline/Rock Island, IL). Mt St Clare has met the fate of several private catholic colleges in that it is now co-educational and has been purchased by a for-profit educational corporation. Another regional example is Marycrest college in Davenport which was bought by a Japanese company (Teikyo) and then subsequently closed. BTW, Catholics ARE christians, even if all christians aren't catholics. I wasn't aware that the school is still affiliated with the catholic church, but since you are enrolled, I'll take your word for it. No it isn't "weird" for a non-catholic to attend a catholic school. Lots do it.

Yes. It is legit. The only reason I didn't enroll is because if you look at the cost per a credit- it's more money in the long run than if you take online classes from your community college. Your talking for an AA/AS of $24,000 vs. JC (online courses) at $16,000. (How long will it take you to pay it back? Me- umm...I would like to continue my education without having to be paying my school loan back for 10 years!) Also, with distance education, you have to be careful because they offer financial aid- but it's for low interest loans. This all has to do with class hours- since some classes don't count, they will be put on a loan. (I am going for Pell Grants etc.) Make sure they are Nationally and Regionally recgonized! Do some research! Good Luck! Below are some sites that are great for helping you locate a good school.
