State Fair Community College (SFCC) is the premiere source of educational programs and career training for residents of Sedalia, Missouri and numerous counties throughout the area.
State Fair’s academics and training opportunities are wide ranging, with new programs being added all the time.
SFCC’s associate of applied science degree is for those who would like to transition directly into a promising career. Majors in this category include Agriculture, Automotive Technology, Dental Hygiene, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistance, Radiological Technology and Web Development.
The second degree option is the associate of arts, which is for those who would like to continue on to a bachelor’s degree. Associate of arts majors include a broad range of subjects in the liberal, performing and fine arts as well as the humanities and sciences.
SFCC also offers an associate’s degrees in Teaching and Engineering.
For those who don’t have the time or money to spend two or more years in school there is the professional or skills certificate option. These programs average about a year in duration and provide training in fields like medical coding and billing, pharmacy technology, practical nursing and welding.
In partnership with Central Methodist University, SFCC even awards several bachelor’s degrees.
Students can take classes at any time of day or night, on the weekend, in the summer in shortened formats and online.
Student life at SFCC is eclectic as well. A museum, theatre and art gallery can all be found on campus, as can numerous intramural sports and student organizations.
While admission to many programs at SFCC is open, most medical and allied health programs have additional requirements.
Financial aid is available to eligible students to help cover tuition and other expenses.
