Belmont University is a private, coeducational, liberal arts university located in Nashville, Tennessee. It is the largest Christian university in Tennessee and the second largest private university in the state.
Belmont is currently ranked by U.S. News & World Report at number 11 of masters-degree universities in the South. For the applicant class of 2007-08, Belmont admitted 62% of its applicants, and half of those students matriculated. The average ACT score for the admitted class is 26. One-third of new freshmen at Belmont were in the top 10 percent of their graduating class, including 30 valedictorians and 12 salutatorians, and they held an average cumulative high school GPA of 3.5. Approximately 2/3 of entering freshmen eventually graduate from Belmont, and approximately 1/3 of entering freshmen eventually transfer out of Belmont.
In addition to the music and music business programs, Belmont offers a full range of majors and programs that extend outside of class. Belmont and HCA created a health sciences consortium with local universities to alleviate the shortage of nurses and health care professionals in the local community. The entrepreneurship program was named the 2008 National Model Entrepreneurship Program, and provides students with shared office space and mentoring from faculty, local entrepreneurs and attorneys. New Century Journalism students have gained work experience at The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Daily Show, CBS Evening News, and British Broadcasting Corp.
Belmont's Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business (CEMB) consists of current/former authors, performers, expert witnesses (for industry lawsuits), artist managers, lawyers, record label executives, songwriters, and others. The former dean of the CEMB, Jim Van Hook, is a legendary Nashville label head, especially as part of the Christian music industry; he is currently CEO of Word Entertainment. One of the hallmarks of the program is its vast internship program, which sends hundreds of students annually out into the Nashville music industry to intern for record labels, management companies, publishing companies, booking agencies, publicists, recording studios, law firms, and other businesses.

Belmont is pretty easy to get into, as long as your SAT score was decent.
The housing at Belmont is interesting. I would def. live on campus until you get used to the city and area. It's a lot of fun, but a lot at once.
Nearly everyone in town has got something to display. Make sure you don't lose sight of what you got.
The scene is awesome. Cafe Coco and Taste of Tokyo are two places you've gotta go to if you visit the ville.
Good luck with your applications!

Yes, I think your chances are excellent to get into Belmont.
If you really like the school, there is nothing wrong with doing early decision, it gives "a plan" and takes away the doubt and worry you might feel later on. I did and I was glad.

sweet..i am too. i just visited last friday! the campus is amazing! very very nice. i come from a little town and the campus is not too small but not too big either. the area is nice and music row is adjacent to the school. the music business major sounds nice ( i'm interested in audio engineering tech) you can either focus on production or business. its definatly worth it if it something you seriously want to do. there are tons of things to do. belmont is less than 10 minutes from down town. there is a nice (18 and up) club downtown (grahm central station), lots of stores, coyote ugly..there will definatly be something to do. well i hope this helped.
