UNM Taos Description

The University of New Mexico in Taos, New Mexico, serves the students of northern New Mexico by offering transfer, vocational and workforce training academics in areas meant to contribute to the further development of New Mexico, as well as your career.

If you’re interested in pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, the university now offers these academic degrees in fields like Dental Hygiene, Radiologic Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences and Organizational Communications.

In addition to its associate’s degrees and certificate programs, the university also offers unique Massage, Yoga and Nursing programs.

To qualify for the university’s open admissions policy, all you need is a high school diploma or GED. If you want to take classes only for personal enrichment, you don’t even need to submit them.

As a school devoted to the growth of New Mexico, residents of the state pay less in tuition than out-of-state students.

In order to receive financial aid, however, students must be pursuing degrees. Forms of assistance to those who qualify include grants, loans and work-study programs.

Students have access to the university’s extensive resources, including the modern, upscale Harwood Museum of Art, Water Institute and Southwest Research Center. Whether you want to skim exciting exhibits, help establish a region-wide water and natural resource institute or explore the enormous resources of the non-lending SRC, your student life will be enriched by these opportunities.
