Description

Along with its sister school, the Laurel Technical Institute, Laurel Business Institute works to provide top-notch professional training for Pennyslvania residents. LBI offers a number of specialized associate’s degrees, including the following areas:

* Accounting & Business
* Administrative Office Technology
* Cosmetology
* Early Childhood Education
* Health Care
* Information Technology
* Therapeutic Massage

Admissions requirements are fairly straightforward. In addition to an application (with high school diploma or GED), LBI requires an interview and a minimum score of 16 on the Wonderlic SLE Exam. The Respiratory Therapy and Medical Lab Technician programs require a Wonderlic SLE score of 20, as well as job shadowing and an extended interview.

Laurel is also home to a chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, a fraternity associated with the Future Business Leaders of America. All LBI students with at least a 3.0 GPA and a 90% attendance record are eligible to apply for this excellent networking opportunity. For those students interested in the health industry, LBI also hosts a chapter of Health Occupations Students of America.

The job placement service is also a notable benefit of studying at LBI. The Institute works closely with local employers to help students land internships and begin careers in Uniontown.
