Detailed Ratings

Overall, Bergen Community is a good school. The only thing I would like to see happen is for their academic advising staff to be a little more personable. When I was a perspective student, I found that smaller (vocational) schools had a more personable staff which I found to be way more helpful and comforting. Without better guidance, you are left in "virgin waters" in a sense. For example, my first semester, no one told me what classes I needed to take to get where I wanted to be, studying for my x-ray tech. degree. Also, no one explained that my bill needed to be paid within 24 hours of class registration and that financial aid forms should have been filed pre-registration. Therefor, my classes were automatically dropped for me due to failure to pay. Well, you try and try again. Had it not been for my daughter and determination, those frustrating obstacles could have really pushed me from trying again.
