Description

With a true commitment to the citizens of Burke County, Western Piedmont Community College offers a variety of academics to suit a variety of needs. The school consists of the following divisions:

  • Business Technologies
  • Developmental Studies
  • Health Sciences
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Science, Engineering and Mathematics

Western Piedmont also provides continuing education programs in Emergency & Health Services, as well as specific occupational training. In addition to these certification programs, the school offers workforce development. Computer training, entrepreneurship workshops and classes for unemployment adults help to enrich the local economy.

The majority of financial aid at WPCC comes from federal sources. These need-based grants and student loans combine with state scholarships like the North Carolina Community College Grant to provide significant assistance. The school also offers several institutional scholarships to eligible students.

As a community college, Western Piedmont keeps its admissions open to all who seek higher education. If you’re over the age of 18 or have graduated high school, and you can benefit from higher education, you can enroll at WPCC.

The admissions process varies depending on the type of program you register for, so make sure to consult the school’s website for further information.
