School Description
Provided by Simi Valley Adult School and Career Institute
The mission of Simi Valley Adult School and Career Institute, the largest and most comprehensive adult school in Ventura County, is to educate and empower students of all ages and backgrounds to meet their goals through high quality, technologically advanced, and affordable academic, vocational training and other educational programs, delivered by a qualified staff committed to students' success, in a personal and supportive environment characterized by an emphasis on individuality and preparation for competition in the ever-changing global community.
We're the adult education division of the Simi Valley Unified School District. We enroll more than 11,000 students a year, about half of whom are pursuing a wide variety of occupational training programs. Our campus is located in eastern Ventura County, between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara Counties.
The Simi Valley Adult School and Career Institute is not your ordinary adult education program. Most adult schools in California do not have the scope and depth of occupational training programs available to students in Simi Valley.
The Simi Valley Adult School has the largest number of medical and dental training programs among all the adult education programs in the state of California. Most of the Medical/Dental career training programs have specific beginning and ending dates.
Most of the other occupational training programs, such as all the computer software classes, welder and machinist training programs are open entry, open exit, which means students may enroll at any time throughout the year. Please note: When an open-entry class reaches full student capacity, students may have to be placed on a waiting list.
