Description

Simi Valley Adult School and Career Institute is one of the most comprehensive career institutes in the state of California, offering medical, technical and other career training programs to those in the Simi Valley area.

Simi Valley Adult School offers occupational training programs not usually found in adult education programs. Students may get career training normally only found at community colleges and private career-training institutes for what would often be a fraction of the cost.

Careers in the medical field feature most prominently at Simi Valley. These include training to be a physical therapy aide, x-ray technologist, medical assistant, pharmacy tech and dental assistant.

Simi Valley Adult also helps students to develop work-related skills beyond the standard curriculum. For example, there are courses in communication for nursing assistants to help them communicate effectively with patients.

Other occupational training programs at Simi Valley lead to personal service, industrial and technical careers like welding, machine operations and cosmetology.

Simi Valley’s Senior Adult programs are also quite comprehensive and are comprised of classes in Computer Operations, Fine Arts, Home Economics and Physical Fitness. Some of Simi Valley’s senior citizen courses are intended purely for enrichment. Others have a practical purpose, such as a course to help seniors minimize their risk of falling.

For adults who require training and education in basic English or math skills, Simi Valley adult also offers standard adult school courses in ESL and GED-prep.

The counseling and student services office guides students in their academic endeavors and career planning. There are also services for disabled students. For more information about these and other programs, contact the school today.
